In order to provide a wider service for my client's I regularly attend a variety of different workshops to learn new skills or to improve existing techniques. Many of the props I make for film and television are weapon related items and therefore it is important to have a better understanding of how to fabricate these props using traditional skills. Model making is knowing how to fabricate any item using the most practical materials and offering the best value for money. Using traditional techniques gives authenticity to a piece and helps to improve the production process by using new materials and offering client's more variety.

Private commission to create a variety of Cuir Bolli tools. Cuir Bolli is an ancient technique using cured vegetable dyed leather to create Roman styled chest and back plate body armour. The tools are used to stretch and press the leather over a positive shape or into a negative pattern.

The double hinged spine allows the book to lay completely flat when opened. The solid brass details enhance the natural wood finish and the mitred edges on the inside wood grain represent the pages of the book when the box is closed.
